Hello, my name is Amber and I am a Canadian citizen fundraising for my volunteer mission to Africa. In January 2024 I will travel to Mombasa, Kenya to teach underprivileged children at Bethel Caring Academy.
Bethel Caring Academy was started in 2020 by Pastor Dennis from the local Bethel Baptist Church. The school started by providing a weekly feeding program for children in the area, as many parents had lost their jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic and were unable to feed their families. This then extended to the opening of a school that was funded by the Church. The school enables parents to seek employment while their children are cared for during the week therefore reducing poverty and filling educational needs. Bethel Caring Academy is a unique school providing childcare, support, education, and creativity to its pupils. The school is a beacon of hope in one of the poorest and most deprived areas in Mombasa.
Your generous donations will help me to travel to Mombasa where I will live with a host family and teach art to the students of Bethel Caring Academy. Your generosity will also help me to provide school supplies and leave a cash donation for the school. The school urgently needs funds to support each child as there is no state funding available. Your generous donations will support the school and to ensure a safe and sustainable learning environment for it's young students.
