Beautiful Gina, we love you so much.
Dearest family and friends,
My beautiful cousin Gina thought she
was strong and healthy until she woke up
April 18th with lower abdominal pain.
She went to the ER and was given
antibiotics which didn't help. Ten days
later she was admitted to the hospital for six days where she underwent an
appendectomy.
She thought that was the end of her
illness until she received a voicemail a
few days later informing her ovarian
cancer cells were found on the appendix.
She returned to the hospital for ten days for a radical hysterectomy and debulking surgery.
Her stage 3 ovarian cancer had
metastasized to the bladder, colon, liver, diaphragm, and omentum. It was not in
any lymph nodes.
Her surgeon successfully removed all
visible traces of cancer.
This aggressive cancer has a high rate of recurrence and she began chemo at City of Hope July 23 with a 50% chance of
success according to doctors.
She also decided to pursue
immunotherapy and integrative medical therapies at the Cancer Center for
Healing.
Gina's faith is strong that God will heal
her.
Please, if you are able, help us assist her
in raising the funds needed to support
her financially through this extremely
trying physical, mental and emotional
time for her and her family.
Bless you all and thank you.
Love,
Cousin, Jennifer Andersen
