This past weekend, the small private art-based school my children attend suffered a devastating loss. Due to powerful winds, a powerline transformer was knocked down, causing a fire that completely destroyed the school. In just a few hours, everything that had been built over the past 12 years was lost. The classrooms, art supplies, and the unique environment the teachers created for the students are all gone.

Artsy Learning Academy is an accredited private school serving elementary and middle school students, offering a rare, full-time art-based learning environment where children feel safe, supported, and able to truly thrive.

At Artsy, they combine strong academics with creativity, connection, and hands-on learning. Many families, like mine, value a more personalized, engaging approach that helps children grow in both confidence and ability.

Losing this space has been heartbreaking—not just for us, but for the other families and children who call Artsy home.
