PPEs for healthcare workers in the Philippines
Donation protected
The recent COVID-19 pandemic has shown the world how resilient Filipinos are in the face of adversity however it has also exposed my motherland's vulnerabilities as a developing nation. I never thought I'd see the day when healthcare workers have to literally beg for personal protective equipment (PPE's) that is integral to their safety as frontline workers in this battle.
It is heartbreaking to see my compatriots sewing their own masks, using garbage bags as biohazard suits when their focus should be saving lives. Healthcare workers expose themselves to countless pathogens, uncertainties, and dangers every day and PPEs make life a little easier to handle. Not to mention having the health and safety of their loved ones in mind all the time. Can you imagine having to save someone else's life but risk your own and your family's?
Healthcare workers need your help, now more than ever! Let's not abandon them in their hour of need. They are our first line of defense against a full-blown catastrophe and they need every help they can get.
As such, I am asking for donations to go towards 'Kaya Natin' (We Can Do It), a charitable organization that has been at the forefront of distributing PPEs in the Philippines and to other organizations that are making and distributing PPEs for healthcare workers.
