Coca is 6 years old but looks older than her years. Being rescued can take its toll, as we do not know what every dog has been through before coming to us – thankfully, she is now in the right place to heal. She had an issue with her back leg which means she struggled to walk. However, she has a zest for life and needs a family who is able to support her with this so she can comfortably and properly shine in the best way possible. Inside, Coca is a darling girl with a big heart. She is friendly, kind and just longs for a special place to rest her head at night.

She was rescued by us from a puppy mill. When she came into our shelter, we found that she had a dislocated kneecap and, because it went untreated in the puppy mill, it had calcified against her leg bone. She has since had surgery with us and we have set her kneecap back into position.

She is staying with us for another 2-3 months as she needs further surgery. We will be operating on each of her back legs because her femoral head is worn out and needs to be reconstructed. Each surgery will be done a month apart so that each one can heal.

We hope this means she can continue to use her leg as well as possible into the future but we will be looking for adopters who are dedicated to her medical needs as we are certain she will need on-going physio in her new home to help strengthen the muscles around her legs again.

We would like to raise as much as possible to cover the costs of her ongoing needs - the surgery & physio - giving her the best chance with her future adoptive family without the worries of high costs for her care & needs.
