Please Help Desperate Dogs Of Azerbaijan

Desperate Dogs Of Azerbaijan is a rescue set up and run by my friend, Rosie Turner to help the poor, abandoned dogs and cats in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan has a kill policy for all stray cats and dogs and the government employ dog/cat catchers. Their means of destroying the animals is far from humane and they are regularly poisoned, beaten and even worse. Sadly, there is very little kindness or respect shown by anyone towards dogs and cats in this country.

Rosie has set up a shelter in Baku, Azerbaijan, to try and help as many of these poor souls as possible, particularly those who require medical treatment. 

We currently have over 165 dogs living at the shelter and 148 on land rented elsewhere as we cannot risk overcrowding at the shelter. We also have 6 dogs in foster care. We have a total of 37 cats, the majority of whom live in the cat house at our shelter.

It costs a minimum of £800 per week to feed all our animals plus rent costs and worker salaries (Rosie works full time to help cover costs) We also need to make ongoing improvements to keep the shelter safe.

I am running this fundraiser to help towards ongoing costs to try and ensure that Desperate Dogs Of Azerbaijan can continue to save these precious souls who have no-one else to care for them.
