PIPPA Mammary Cancer removal

Hi, My name is Jacqui, and I am the foster carer for Pippa. Pippa is approximatley 11 years old now, and was surrendered to Holly's Rescue for Senior Dogs Inc, a registered charity specialising in small dog rescue in South Australia.

Pippa came to us from a backyard breeder. She was used as a breeder, and then surrendered following her owner's death - no longer useful to her humans.

To date, Holly's has paid for a large mammary tumour to be removed, vaccinations, desexing, worming and grooming. She also has ongoing treatment for "dry eye", and has been in foster care for many months, decompressing, and learning to trust humans. She lost most of her beautiful coat, possibly due to stress. She is now settling in, and learning from her fur foster sister Mia - what it is like to be a pooch that deserves love, care, an inside bed, and is learning to play.

In order to give her the best life possible, she now needs further mammary surgery based on best veterinary advice. She needs the equivalent of a human mastectomy. Her first surgery is booked for mid April, and will involve removing the remaining mammary glands, and her lymph nodes on one side. This is the first major sugery. Her second surgery repeated on the other side will take place a number of weeks after this surgery, to allow full recovery.

Holly's Rescue, and Pippa, need your help to raise the funds needed for her upcoming surgery.Being a small dog, she has many happy years ahead of her if we are able to remove all traces of cancer and prevent it's return with this surgery.
