Hi my name is Danielle, about 4 months ago I had the privilege of meeting Nancy and her daughter Alisha. My family and I have lived in Bayswater since 2008 and really enjoy the area with the local park lands and also the 2 horses that reside in the paddocks down the road. Two community favorites, Snap and Doc have been here for some 20 years or more! They were both really popular amongst the local neighbours but people would also come as far as the next suburb to have a pat or feed them some cooked carrots ( yes that's right cooked carrots!)
From February this year both Nancy and Alisha worked with the owners and would come every day and sometimes twice a day to tend to both horses. Unfortunately Doc did become really unwell with what we thought was colic but turned out to be something a little more sinister, with the permission from their owners, Nancy purchased a float to be able to take Doc to the vet hospital to get an ultrasound, which she paid for out of her own pocket.
Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done for this beautiful boy and it was a very very sad day for our community, loosing Doc was really devastating to a lot of people.
With Docs passing Snap started to fret and after some great consideration from her owners , they allowed Nancy to take Snap home!
The reason myself and others are wanting to set this page up is that this is the 14th horse they have taken in as a rescue.
They generally take in the older horses as no one wants them any more as they are not "useful" to anyone.
Horses are not the only animals they rescue, they have goats, dogs , kittens, cows and pigs .
Aside from all of this they are also out in the community doing care packages, for those that are struggling to feed their animals and also if people can't pay a vet bill they organise to pay for it!
The funds raised on this page will go towards the following

check ups and constant care for all animals in their care

especially for older horses and other rescues
.FARRIER
caring for the health of the leg, foot and hoof and making sure a horse is properly balanced .
The horse in the photo his name is Manny and is now doing amazing due to all the hard work and devotion Nancy and Alisha put into his recovery. Manny now shares a paddock with beautiful Snap.
Nancy and her family are so very passionate about rescuing abused and neglected animals, but also working within the community with owners and there horses to help out where ever they can. We appreciate you taking the time to read this page and hope that you can help this amazing lady keep doing what she does so well!
