Hello my name is Emily and I am the current president of the Board for Ocean Song Education Association. We are a small but mighty team founding Ocean Song School, a Waldorf-inspired elementary school—intended to open with a Kindergarten program to start.

Our mission is to offer an intentional Waldorf-inspired school program, located here in Victoria, BC. One that is guided by child development, shaped by rhythm and grounded in care.

Right now, we are in the seed stage—the very beginning. This is when your support makes the most difference.

Securing a Location – establishing a physical home where our school community can grow.

Membership Dues – joining organizations such as AWSNA (Association of Waldorf Schools of North America), which provides mentorship, accreditation, and resources.

Legal & Administrative Costs – completing our incorporation and applying for charitable status so we can unlock grants and long-term sustainability.

Program Development & Faculty Training – creating early offerings for children and families that lay the foundation for our full curriculum.—Supporting faculty in becoming fully-trained Waldorf teachers and leaders (training that is often in the US or Toronto.)

Community Outreach & Marketing – helping more families discover and connect with Ocean Song School.

We introduce technology at the right time. We delay its use in the early years to prepare students to engage with it in ways that support their well-being, relationships, and contributions to the wider world.

We integrate arts, thinking and imagination. Academic learning is brought to life through story, music, drawing, and hands-on work—nurturing both intellect and creativity.

We grow in community. Our school is a shared effort among teachers, families, and administrators—built on cooperation, agency, and mutual respect.

We aim for freedom. Our goal is to support the development of thoughtful, morally grounded individuals who act with purpose and care.
