Nastasia’s Gender Reassignment Journey

Donation protected

I struggle with asking for help and it is
unlike me to open up and allow myself to be so vulnerable.

They say, sometimes it’s not the times
you decide to fight but the times you
decide to surrender, that make all the
difference. I think this is the time I finally
surrender and stop fighting, in order to
start living and finally focusing on my
quality of life.

Dare i say it, but I need help!

I have lived my whole life not being able
to accept the body that I wake up to each day and face in the mirror. The struggle
of seeing nothing but masculinity and
feeling nothing but femininity, yet not
being able to have one match the other
kills me and that is only but one of the
daily battles of Gender Dysphoria.

My whole life I have planned to have
gender confirmation surgeries. Surgeries
that are important to my survival
because let’s face it, we live in a time
where majority have been conditioned to see only “man” or “woman” as natural
forms of gender and deny the rest.

I have been saving for many years but I
struggle with saying no, when people are in need of financial help. As an Aboriginal
and Maori woman i hold cultural
responsibilities so when my family and
friends need help, I am there. My mother has always been a giver and has been
there to help many people both blood
related and strangers and this is a habit
that I have picked up.

At times it saddens me when I am asked
for help whether it be for funerals, koha
(gifts or money to help family during a
time of need) food and rent. It saddens
me because I withdraw from my savings
which ultimately means I am taking away from my goal of feeling happy but It also makes me happy to know that I am able
to help others because who knows, there may be a time that I need help.

All funds raised will go towards two
major surgeries: facial feminisation and
gender reassignment. I will be continuing to save, in order to travel for these
procedures, in order to have a support
person with me and for the required
after care.

I hope you all understand the importance of this goal and not look at me as a
charity case because this is a need to me, not a want.

If you are unable to help, that is totally
understandable.

If you are unable to help financially
please help me by sharing this as you
may know someone who may be able to.

If you have any questions, feel free to dm me & I will be happy to chat.

If you want to get to know me a little more here is the link to a short doco I did with ABC, which can only be viewed in Australia on the Iview app  - https://iview.abc.net.au/show/transblack/series/0/video/IP1706H002S00
Love to you all!
