Mother Trucker Proof Of Concept

INTRODUCTION TO MOTHER TRUCKER: Getting movies made are near impossible these days! In order to pitch and sell a concept, you really need amazing visuals and a proof of concept. I’ve written “Mother Trucker" an epic feature film and now need to create a proof of concept (short film) to execute my vision.

In these rather bleak times, I’ve found that action-packed escapism is what brings me the most joy.

This story is about the last non-robotic female truck driver who must make an incredible and often humor-filled journey across a desert wasteland with her estranged and very angsty daughter.

I recognize there are a million reasons why people are hurting right now. The world is scary. But, art brings me the most comfort and joy during tough times, and I hope I can create art that gives that to others.

WHAT IS IT: "Mother Trucker" is a proof of concept (short film) that I hope to turn into an epic feature film shortly. The story revolves around the last non-robotic female truck driver who must make an incredible journey across a desert wasteland with her estranged and angst daughter. Think of a James Gunn / Taika Waititi film with the tone and humor of a Tina Fey or Mindy Kaling show.

MY WHY: After writing and directing a female-driven spy show for kids, I realized how underrepresented women and female heroes are in the action space. Since then, I have made it my mission to dedicate my career to writing and directing action/adventures features. If you know me, then you know it's all I talk about. It's my dream to bring to life a new generation of action heroes and action movies that seat every day (and underrepresented) heroes at the center of the story. And to place a new generation of female writers, directors and creators behind the camera. "Mother trucker" is the first of these movies that I am so excited to bring to life with this proof of concept (and hopefully a movie later).

MORE ON MY WHY: I think it's essential to put recognizable women at the heart of movies who are dynamic and not one note that young women can recognize and feel seen. And at the core, this movie is about a woman (a mother) struggling with the demands of her job (being a post-apocalyptic semi-truck driver) and realizing that she maybe wasn't the best mother to her teenage daughter.And, a daughter realizing that maybe her mother is only human and trying her best. And, ultimately that it's up to each human to become their own parent.

WHAT YOUR MONEY BUYS: Action movies are hard to make because they're hard to do on a small budget. We've assembled an incredible team dedicating their time and resources to this project. We are shooting the project on March 26th and 27th THIS MONTH! So your money would be put right into use to help us get through our two production days and, most importantly, help fund out post-production: editor, VFX, sound mix, color and more! We have everything in place to execute this proof but we just need a little more money to get us through post-production. We are so, so close to making our dream a reality, and every penny helps!
