Liver shunt surgery for a normal doggie life

Hi me and my partners family dog is a 1 year old cocker spaniel who is very playful, loving and of course wild! Unfortunately our gorgeous boy hunter had a very traumatic start to his life, at 8 weeks we found him urinating blood, head pressing, walking in circles, blurry vision and even to the point of seizures/frothing at the mouth crying in pain. Hunter is now on medication for his condition which is a extrahepatic liver shunt, as he’s had numerous scans/tests and has been doing really well on his medication for a year, but unfortunately this can’t fix him and there’s a chance he may not make it to 2 years of age.

we love him so much and have tried to stay positive throughout this whole process but inside, our hearts are breaking for this poor baby boy, hunter can’t enjoy any protein he’s on a strict diet so he doesn’t experience any symptoms, we have been told by our vet that hunter needs the operation done in a month to live a long healthy life, unfortunately the operation is a lot of money but we are determined to raise and get our baby boy well again!
