Life saving surgery for Sminks

My cat, Sminks, got out on Friday and this morning we found him on the side of our garage not being able to move his back legs. We took him to the emergency vet and they didn’t have good news. Sminks ended up dislocating his hip and fracturing both of his femurs. They said he was most likely hit by a car. They gave me a couple suggestions for a specialist to call but told me that the 3 different procedures he’d need would probably end up costing anywhere from 6-12k dollars. If we don’t get the surgeries needed the only other option would be to euthanize him. I asked about possibly amputating one of the broken legs and repairing the other but the vet didn’t like that idea because it would put too much stress on the leg they would repair. This guy is so young only about a year and a half years old and I feel like he is my soul kitty. I wouldn’t know what to do without him. Right now he’s at home with us on some heavy pain meds until we can figure out which path to take. I don’t want to have to end his life due to not be able to afford a surgery. He is little fighter so I want to fight for him. After seeing his x-rays I don’t even know how he managed to crawl his way back home for us to find him.

After paying for $500 emergency vet bill with my care credit, care credit refused to up our limit in order to pay for his surgeries. I will continue to look for other options in order for him to get his surgery and save his life. Thank you for taking the time to read about this amazing kitty❤️
