Jessie Claire's Brain Surgery

Donation protected
Update: Kristi, Brent and most of all Jessie Claire are truly blown away and humbled by the amount of support from everyone. They fly out tomorrow (Sat., June 22) to Stanford and will be there for two weeks. Continue to pray for them. We essentially met our initial fundraising goal that we set for them! Thank you everyone!! Because donations are still coming in and they will have a lot of medical bills and future trips to Stanford, I have increased the financial goal. Thank you! Jessie Claire is truly blessed by your amazing generosity.

To know her is to love her. Jessie Claire is a kind, smart and beautiful 11-year-old that embraces life and is always in every circumstance full of JOY. She enjoys doing things that all typical 11-year-olds enjoy doing with one exception: she is currently battling Moyamoya, a rare brain disease that restricts blood flow to the brain.  In addition to the Moyamoya, Jessie Claire also has brain tumors involving optic nerves, chiasm, and hypothalamus. This sweet girl has been battling the brain tumors since the age of one and was diagnosed with Moyamoya at age six.

In March 2014, Jessie Claire underwent brain surgery to provide blood flow.  A year later it was concluded that the brain surgery had failed.

After her case was evaluated by Moyamoya experts at Stanford, it became apparent that Jessie Claire undergo another brain surgery immediately. On Thursday, June 27, 2019, she will receive a direct bypass and an indirect bypass on her brain at Stanford University Medical Center located in Stanford, California close to Palo Alto.

Because her surgery will be at Stanford, there will be a lot of out-of-pocket medical expenses on top of travel and accommodation expenses as they will need to be there for two weeks. In addition, Stanford will be monitoring Jessie Claire’s Moyamoya and they will have to make the trip every six-months to see her doctors for the unforeseeable future.

As a result, we wanted to start a Go-Fund-Me page to help alleviate the expenses. It is our way to love on Jessie Claire and show our support for this sweet family. If you can’t make a contribution, then a note of encouragement and most importantly your prayers as we trust God’s hand in this medical journey they are about to embark.

Thank you for your prayers and support!
