Second time in Buffalo,NY - 2017 Festival of India event at Canalside, Downtown Buffalo featuring Indian Culture, History, Religion, Arts, Crafts, Music, Dance, Boutique, Costumes and IndianCuisine. Festival of India @ Buffalo is a family friendly summer event that invites the community to join as one and celebrate. Our organization was incorporated in 1981 as a socio-cultural organization to bring the area’s Indian communities together and to promote arts and culture from Indian sub-continent among our local communities to educate our future generations. Now, we represent over 1000 families of Indian origin living in Western New York and Niagara Frontier region. Ours is a non-political, non-religious organization of people united by a common love of Indian heritage in this area. From providing a platform for artistic expression to Indian community, we have grown to include mainstream activities like Spelling Bee, Photography and Sports Day.
To indoctrinate the youth of our community in community service, we, over the past 3 years, have been taking a pro-active role with contributions to Buffalo City Mission (Turkey Drive, Food & Clothes Drive), WNY Food Bank, Flint Water Crisis, Earthquake in Nepal, Floods in India, International student support at University of Buffalo (Airport pickups, Winter Coat drives) etc.
Over In 2016, as a part of our 35th year celebrations, we presented Festival of India (aka India Mela) to our local communities, drawing thousands of people of all ethnicities comprising not only Indian Americans, but also the national mainstream. In 2017, we were recognized by Erie County as an organization that actively promotes culture in WNY and were awarded a grant from Arts and Culture Fund. We are a 501 C (3) non-profit organization and please consider contributing to our event using our Tax ID # 112582693 for your tax deductive donation.
