In recognition of the Westside Gazette 50 years

We're celebrating 50 years of Service to the Community!

Since 1971, the iconic Westside Gazette Newspaper has proudly delivered insightful, illuminating, and elevating stories juxtaposed with informative and empowering news to South Florida’s African American community. The Westside Gazette has been an integral and essential component of communication for churches, fraternities, sororities, organizations, businesses, public officials, civic associations, schools, individuals, and a vast array of entities from every sector of society. Our journey began with a simple motto, “A Positive paper for a Positive People” and it continues to reverberate with every edition we print.

As we observe our 50th Anniversary, we invite you to share in our celebration by tuning into our virtual event on February 28th.

We are honored to have earned the legacy as Broward County’s oldest and largest African American owned and operated newspaper. Moreover, we are proud of the contributions and support we have rendered to our community. Together, we have stood shoulder to shoulder with you in struggles and successes. Therefore, it is apropos that we invite you to join us in this milestone celebration.

At this time when advertising and other revenues are way down for newspapers, we invite you to show your appreciation and support of our work by making a contribution.  We want the Westside Gazette to be able to continue to record our community’s history and help shape its future .
