My mother-in-law, Brenda Johnson, and my father-in-law, Brandon Johnson (affectionately known as Snake), were involved in a serious car accident on Sunday, May 18, 2025. They had just left my niece’s dance recital and were on their way home when they were struck by another vehicle at an intersection in Longview. The impact crushed the driver’s side of my mother-in-law’s car, causing it to roll and hit a power pole. As a result, my mother-in-law suffered a broken arm, a cracked sternum, and a concussion. My father-in-law was left in critical condition.

He remained on life support for 11 days before sadly passing away from his injuries at 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. In his passing, he was able to give the gift of life by donating his liver, which was quickly transported to Alabama to help save someone else.

Snake was a loving man who had a deep faith in God and a strong devotion to his family. He loved sports, hunting, fishing, and was a legend on many local lakes. He was also a passionate Longview Lobo fan.

We’ve created this fundraiser to help my mother-in-law with medical expenses that are beyond her control, as well as with day-to-day living costs, as they were on a fixed income. In the midst of this tragedy, the last thing we want her to worry about is finances. Any support you can offer would mean the world to her and to our entire family
