Using the Infoton Virtual Cell I traced the exact chain of events inside the cells of Long COVID patients that explains why people are not getting better. I am setting up a clinical cohort study to test whether interrupting that chain restores mitochondrial function and ends the persistent symptoms that have stolen years from millions of lives.

The Virtual Cell
Virtual Cells are considered the Holy Grail of TechBio. Every major lab and well-funded company in the world has been racing to build a Virtual Cell. The industry approach has been to feed billions of cells worth of data into AI (Statistical Inference Models) and let the machine learn the patterns. The approach is expensive, requiring massive datasets, energy, and data center infrastructure.

I took a different path with Infoton. I wanted my Virtual Cell to match biology and operate with precision not statistics. Instead of collecting as much data as possible, I built the Infoton Virtual Cell from information physics, which allows me to derive a precise physical identity for every gene and protein based on its mass and energy. No training data. No AI. Simple math.

Applied to Long COVID, the Infoton Virtual Cell traced the chain of molecular events explaining why patients are not recovering and predicted which specific proteins were malfunctioning before a single patient record was retrieved. The predictions were then checked against five independent published datasets. Every prediction matched.

About Me
My name is January Walker and I am a seasoned technologist whose career in identity systems, blockchain, product management, and information security naturally advanced into neuroscience and information physics as the technologies I both developed and protected evolved into brains on blockchains and brain computer interfaces.

I left Corporate America to found Infoton, the first information physics company of its kind, and build the world's first physics-based Virtual Cell. I created the Infoton Virtual Mitochondria for my friend Krystalee, who died of cancer. The physics I developed to understand disease at its most fundamental level is now being directed at Long COVID, because no one else should have to wait for answers that the technology can already provide.

Long COVID was selected as a validation target because of its well-documented mitochondrial signature, the availability of published molecular datasets, and the absence of any mechanism-based treatment for the millions of patients currently affected.

As Founder, I will serve as the operating Product Manager for this project, owning cross-functional coordination across technology, clinical operations, legal, and communications from inception through publication, as well as product launch and data architecture system updates .

About the Project
I'm accelerating the roadmap as I have a specification of a target which needs to get to in-vitro immediately. We need to raise at Minimum $2,000 - $5000 to get to the first level.

1. $2,000 to $5,000 CADD screening compound space against pharmacophore computationally and propose candidates.
2. $100 to $500, $3,000 to $8,000 Compound synthesis or catalog order is next, if something close exists in REAL catalog: $100 to $500 per compound. If a custom synthesis is needed: $3,000 to $8,000.
3. $2,000 to $5,000 in vitro Mpro FRET assay Enzyme inhibition, IC50 determination.
4. $5,000 to $10,000 cell-based antiviral assay SARS-CoV-2 infected cell culture, EC50 and cytotoxicity.
5. $2,000 to $4,000 selectivity panel Cathepsin B, L, S, Caspase-3.

Evidence & Repository
  • Long Covid Infoton Virtual Mitochondria Analysis are the results of the original command line interface validation run where the Infoton Virtual Cell predicted which proteins would be elevated or suppressed in Long COVID patients before retrieving real patient data from Phetsouphanh et al. (Nature Communications 2024). Every prediction matched.

Where every dollar goes:
  • 40% Salaries, because the technology does not get built without the technologist.
  • 41% Clinical cohort access, IRB coordination, data access agreements, and pilot study costs.
  • 10% Computing infrastructure to run the Virtual Cell at clinical scale.
  • 8% Publication and IP protection, journal submission and patent filing.

What's being funded:
  • $16,000 Keep the Engine Running The Infoton Virtual Cell runs on a personal computer right now. This milestone moves the tech to a dedicated computing environment capable of handling clinical collaboration at scale. Without this, the technology cannot move faster than one person's laptop. +$3,800 gets funds a the next tier which allows for better processing later on.

  • $13,000 Protect and Publish the Discovery A finding that lives only in a terminal window and a Hugging Face repository is a finding the medical community cannot act on. This objective covers the cost of submitting the Long COVID analysis to a peer-reviewed medical journal so doctors can read it, and engage appropriate legal structures so the Infoton architecture that produced the results stays protected.

  • $64,000 Get Into the Clinic The physics analysis is already done and the targets are identified. This funding covers the initial cost of getting those intervention candidates in front of real Long COVID patients through a clinical research partner, including IRB coordination, data access agreements, and pilot study entry costs. This bridge is where the Virtual Cell transitions from being a computational result and starts being a path to treatment.

  • $64,000 Fund the Technologist My work has been built without a salary, without institutional backing, and without outside funding. A non-technologist funded approach is not sustainable. This milestone covers a handful of current expenditures so I as the person who built Infoton can continue without lack of income being the reason the project stops.

The funding structure outlined is the minimum viable funding structure to get the Infoton technology into the clinic. There will be dependencies and other overhead items downstream. The less time I have to spend fundraising, the more time I can focus on bringing technology up to speed on all fronts. The Infoton Virtual Cell is species and disease agnostic and I would like to Focus.

Once the initial goal is reached, additional staff will be brought on. My goal is to give all of humanity something beautiful to work towards, and provide hope where there was none before.

As stated previously, there is enough work here for an entire economy across various sectors and I cannot do the work alone.

Project Overview
The goal of this project is to take a validated computational finding about why Long COVID patients are not recovering and turn it into an actionable clinical result within twelve months.

  • Phase 1 Community and Setup: Activates immediately upon GoFundMe launch GoFundMe live. Community engaged. Inbound responses triaged. Clinical outreach initiated in parallel. Infrastructure procurement begins.

  • Phase 2 Foundation: Estimated Timeline Weeks 2 to 4, Computing environment deployed. Community communication channel established. Clinical partner shortlist identified from outreach responses. Activates at 10% of goal: $16,000

  • Phase 3 Partner Selection: Estimated Timeline Month 2 Activates at 18% of goal: $29,000 Clinical partner selected. NDA and collaboration agreement signed. Study design initiated. IRB application submitted. IP protection process engaged.

  • Phase 4 Study Activation: Month 3 Activates at 49% of goal $79,000 IRB approval received. Patient recruitment begins. Baseline data collection protocol executed. Intervention compounds sourced and verified.

  • Phase 5 Intervention: Months 4 to 7 Activates at 100% of goal: $159,000 Cohort intervention runs. Follow up measurements at weeks 4 and 8. Data collected against the specific biomarkers the Infoton Virtual Cell predicted. Community updated at each checkpoint.

  • Phase 6 Analysis Results analyzed against predictions: Months 7 to 9 Phase 2 funding applications submitted to NIH RECOVER and PCORI if signal is positive.

  • Phase 7 Protection and Publication Legal structures engaged: Months 9 to 12 Full results submitted for peer-reviewed publication. Findings made public regardless of outcome.

Every dollar donated moves the project to the next phase. No phase begins without the funding to execute it properly.

Based on new findings and new learnings, and funding coverage I may update the timeline.

Full Funding results in:
1. Concurrent Protocol usable today
2. Physics Diagnostic Tool
3. A Small Molecule Drug targeting the conserved binding interface.
