On Monday, November 16, Hurricane Iota pummeled the Colombian Island of Providencia as a category 5 storm. In its wake was left destruction of practically 98% to 99% of the infrastructure and leaving the majority of its more than 5,000 inhabitants homes into scrap heaps.
My native Providencia, the center point of the UNESCO Marine Protected Area the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve, which forms 10% of the entire Caribbean Sea and contains some of the world’s greatest marine biodiversity, has been devastated, including our once beautiful palm trees and vegetation.

My family along with the other survivors of Iota are grateful to be alive, although, face an arduous task in rebuilding the island and their homes. For this reason I am reaching out to you for help in raising much needed funds.

Any support will be greatly appreciated.
