Marguerite Mary DeRosa, 60, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026.

In Lieu of flowers, please donate to her daughter, Isabella's college fund.

Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, Marguerite later moved to Scotch Plains, New Jersey in 2011, where she made her home and raised her family.

Marguerite received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and her graduate degree from Pratt Institute. She also trained at ACAP - Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis. She dedicated many years of her life to her work as an art therapist, where she compassionately helped others heal and express themselves through analysis and creativity. In addition, she found joy in teaching in the Art Therapy Department at Caldwell University.

In her free time, Marguerite enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her beloved husband, Sean, and her cherished daughter, Isabella. Her devotion to her family was at the center of everything she did. Marguerite was an avid artist and baker. Her family and friends always looked forward to her trays of cookies at the holidays and special occasions. Her love of painting and crafting lent themselves well to her years as a catechist at her parish, Holy Trinity, for CCD religious education. Spending time with children always brought Marguerite such immense joy.

Marguerite is survived by her loving husband, Sean, of 19 years; her daughter, Isabella; her siblings: Dianna (spouse: Ron), Ralph (spouse: Catherine), and Mary, her nieces and nephews, grandniece and grandnephews, and many other loving relatives and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 10:45 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 315 First Street, Westfield, NJ 07090.
Interment of her ashes will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
