I never imagined I would be writing something like this, but I am currently homeless after my landlord committed eviction fraud, forcing me out of a place in California I had never even lived in, leaving me stranded with my two cats and no safe place to go. My car and support system are back home in Colorado, and I have no way to get there, no money for food, and no ability to come up with a deposit and first month of rent to secure housing. I am surviving entirely on the kindness of strangers, which is humbling and terrifying at the same time. I am devastated, scared, and exhausted, but I am trying to hold on and do the right thing for myself and my cats. Any help at all would mean more than I can put into words and would go directly toward food, transportation, and securing stable housing so I can rebuild and feel safe again.
