We are running our first, small and important fundraiser to gather resources to assemble and donate sensory & fidget packs for kids and teens with anxiety. This phase 1 fundraiser is seeking our first goal of $250, of which 100% of donations will fund an estimated 50 fidget packs to benefit 50 children and families. We aim to work with and donate to health and child care offices, Indigenous organizations, educational facilities and throughout providing services for healthy kids.
Why raise money for this?
Kids and teens with anxieties may fidget, have a lack of focus and attention, and undertake not so good habits (like nail biting) when they feel anxious, stressed, nervous and over stimulated.
Numerous professional studies and professionals we have talked to, recommend and cite that sensory & fidget items can benefit kids with anxieties, as kids can use these items to distract from bad habits, keep them productively occupied, relieve stress, sometimes help to stay off of electronic devices. As a parent, I have experienced these benefits across many children.
We are eager to donate our time and energy on this micro project, with at least one teen achieving important volunteer experience in acquisition of supplies, assemble the packages, budgeting, collaborating, people skills, and the great accomplishments of donating and networking with a few local organizations in Maple Ridge to Coquitlam areas.
We will update on our progress as we go and hope this can help in launching more creative ideas and phases in the near future.
Thank you for your consideration and generosity. Sharing this fundraiser is great, donating is very appreciated.
