As a mum, all you ever want is to see your children happy, to watch them chase their dreams and to give them opportunities you could only ever dream of.

My beautiful 12-year-old boy, William, has been given the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Italy for an incredible 10-day soccer experience. ⚽️

William is a proud young Aboriginal boy, who carries his culture, his identity and his heritage with pride. ❤️

From starting his soccer journey at Bradbury Bears to now playing for Camden Tigers FC, I have watched my little boy grow, work hard, push himself and fall more and more in love with the game.

To see my Aboriginal boy being given the opportunity to travel across the world, represent where he comes from and show what he is capable of fills my heart with a kind of pride I cannot even begin to explain.

He is more than just a little boy chasing a soccer ball. He is a proud Aboriginal young man chasing a dream, carrying his family, his culture and his community with him. ❤️

William has the chance to train with Italian coaches, play against Italian clubs and academies, experience professional football environments and attend a Serie A match.

Something that once seemed like a distant dream is suddenly within his reach.

But behind all the excitement, there is a part of this journey that absolutely breaks my heart.

As much as I would give anything to be standing beside my boy in Italy, cheering him on, watching his face light up and sharing every single moment with him, I won’t be able to go.

I am also a mum to a beautiful daughter with high special needs who requires a significant amount of care, support and routine. Because of her needs, travelling overseas for 10 days simply isn’t possible for me.

And that hurts more than I can put into words.

Because as a mother, how do you explain that you want to be in two places at once? How do you choose between being there for one child during the biggest opportunity of his life and being home for another child who needs you just as much?

The truth is, you don’t choose. You just find a way to make sure both of your children have what they need, even when it breaks your own heart.

Thankfully, my beautiful mum, William’s nanna, will be travelling with him. Knowing he will have someone who loves him cheering him on gives me so much comfort.

Although I won’t physically be there, my heart will be with him every second of every day.

I’ll be the proudest mum watching from the other side of the world, probably crying over every photo, every video and every little update. ❤️

But now comes another heartbreaking reality.

I need to find a way to financially get my boy there.

As a mum, there is nothing harder than looking at your child, knowing how much something means to them, and wondering how on earth you’re going to make it happen.

I wish more than anything I could just tell William, “Don’t worry, mate. Mum’s got this.”

But the truth is, I can’t do it all on my own.

I am doing everything I possibly can to make this dream a reality, but the costs involved are significant.

I already have to miss watching my boy experience this incredible opportunity in person. I don’t want him to have to miss the opportunity altogether because I couldn’t afford to get him there.

William is only 12. He has his whole life ahead of him, so many dreams in his heart and so much passion for the sport he loves.

And as a proud Aboriginal mum, there is something incredibly special about watching the next generation of our children dream big, break barriers and realise that their possibilities are endless.

I want William to know that being a proud Aboriginal boy is something to celebrate. That his culture is his strength, his dreams matter and he belongs on every field, in every country and in every opportunity he works hard for. ❤️

So today, I’m putting my pride aside and asking for help. Not because it’s easy, because believe me, it isn’t. But because I would do absolutely anything to give my children the opportunities they deserve.

Whether it’s $5, $10 or simply sharing our story, every little bit means more to our family than you could ever imagine.

You’re not just helping pay for a trip.

You’re helping a proud young Aboriginal boy chase a dream beyond the place he calls home. You’re helping a mum give her son something she wishes she could give him on her own. And you’re helping create memories that William will carry with him for the rest of his life. ❤️

One day, when William looks back on this experience, I want him to remember that even though his mum couldn’t be standing on the sidelines in Italy, she never stopped fighting to get him there.

I want him to remember where he came from, to always be proud of who he is and to know that his dreams were worth fighting for.

And I want him to know that an entire community believed in him.

From the bottom of this mumma’s heart, thank you for every donation, every share, every kind word and every person who believes in my boy. ❤️

Please help me get my William from Camden to Italy. ✈️⚽️

Because sometimes it really does take a village to make a little boy’s biggest dream come true.

A proud Aboriginal boy. A big dream. A mum who refuses to give up on him. ❤️
