22 Veterans a day take their life. One is too many.
As a US Army combat veteran, I almost became one of the many statistics you read about. 22 veterans per day commit suicide. One is too many. The performing arts saved my life and became the most powerful form of catharsis for me. To share this healing experience with my fellow veterans, I created the non-profit, LA based theatre company: Warriors For Peace Theatre (EIN# 84-2384729).
We are currently raising money to keep our life changing programs for veterans going throughout the next year. We don't just help veterans, but have a mission to promote peace through the arts as well:
Driven by the core values of empowerment, diversity, tribe, trust, and resiliency, Warriors For Peace Theatre is a collaboration of veterans and civilians who believe in the healing effects of art. Our mission is to provide catharsis for those who have served and promote peace by way of the theatre. Our projects are designed to build bridges between communities, support disenfranchised groups, promote diversity, empower women, narrow the civil-military divide, and foster peace among nations. ALL CLASSES AND PROGRAMS ARE FREE FOR VETERANS!
No donation is too small and 100% of all funds go towards teaching ongoing classes, community outreach projects, special programs and events to help veterans heal and promote peace through the arts. Unlike many other non-profits, we have done everything in our mission statement with proven results. See www.WFPtheatre.com to learn about our work and the impact it has had on veterans.
