Hi, this is not something I ever thought I would need to do.
koala was taken ill on Friday which speedily meant Ultrasound scan, X rays and ultimately emergency surgery. She may have lymphoma or she may have severe infection which caused an enlarged lymph node to cause a bowel obstruction. A biopsy was taken so need to wait for results, all while koala remains very ill with a fever and recovery from abdominal surgery. The bill so far is £3000 and they haven’t gotten to the problem or solution.
A little about Koala…
she’s only 1.5 years old and I adopted her from blue cross after she was surrendered by the people who were wanting to make money selling kittens. They had injured her paw in a door and she needed to have surgery which they weren’t willing to fund and wanted her put down. After 3 surgeries and the amputation of 2 toes before she was even 8 weeks old has meant she is a fighter and deserves a chance of a good long life. While I have pet insurance for my older cat, i regrettably never did for koala because I wasn’t going to be letting her outside. Little did I know that the safety of a warm loving home wouldn’t protect her from major illness.
I have been putting money away monthly to cover vet costs but this is far beyond my expectations sadly.
Any support is hugely appreciated as Koala get hit again by another medical blow in her young years.
After a second stay this weekend, Koala is home as she is too stressed at the vets. She still has a fever but John being home will help her
to break her out of vet jail I had to pay her new bill … we are now up to £4500 in the last two months.
