Hi!
My name is Hazel Ostrowski and I'm a junior at Franklin High School. This past week, I have been selected as a member of the WJUC USA U20 women's team that will compete at the Ultimate Frisbee World Championships in Canada this August.

I started playing ultimate at Asa Mercer Middle School, in 6th grade, and immediately fell in love with the game. I played other sports before, but frisbee set itself apart with its emphasis on spirit of the game. The idea that I could play aggressively and competitively, and still prioritize respect, was incredible to me.

In the years that followed, I went on to make several youth club teams, including YCC (U16 girls and U20 mixed), Fryz, and 7 Hills. I have won 3 gold and 1 silver medal at the National Championships, as well as winning a state championship with my Franklin High School team. I have been a part of Age Up, a frisbee social justice program in South Seattle, for the past 5 years, and am now working as an intern alongside some of my longtime mentors. Through this program, I have developed a passion for helping in my community, running workshops and working with youth in my area on issues that matter to us. I seriously appreciate the support of my coaches, as well as my teammates, friends, and family. You have helped me get to where I am today!

Between the training camps, tournament, and other fees, the cost for me to be on the team could be upwards of $3000, which is a huge amount for my family and me. Playing for team USA has been a dream of mine since I first started playing frisbee competitively 6 years ago. It will mean so much to me if you support me in reaching this goal by donating and/or sharing this post.

Thank you so much!

-Hazel
