Help Monty receive life saving veterinary care

Donation protected
UPDATE 10/04/2025:

Monty has a break on the bottom of his jaw, known as the mandibular. He has also been diagnosed with crepitus on the right side of his jaw in the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ), which is likely due to fractures as a result of the trauma. The first attempt to recover the jaw initially failed, as his mandibular became misaligned. He was given a second chance by the amazing veterinary team at Medivet Alfreton and Monty is now finally able to eat liquid food, which is a huge milestone for his progress. He is still unable to fully close his mouth, but we are hoping this improves with time.

As for the right eye, he will likely not be able to see in this eye again and will likely need further surgery to remove the eye if it doesn’t recover.

We are seeing great signs of recovery in Monty and we will keep fighting providing Monty is not suffering and continuing with the treatment is ethical.

We thank everyone so far for the donations, we really appreciate your support whilst we fight for our Monty.

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help. Monty — our sweet, cheeky little shadow — was hit by a car last night. Incredibly, despite his injuries, he found his way back home to us. He’s now at the vet receiving emergency care.

Monty’s jaw is broken, and there are concerns about damage to his eyes and possibly his brain. His pupils are different sizes and not reacting to light — it’s likely he’ll be blind in one eye. But despite everything, he woke up this morning purring and wanting cuddles. The vets say that’s a hopeful sign, and so we’re holding on to that glimmer of hope.

The costs of his treatment, overnight monitoring, and potential surgery are quickly adding up. I’m doing everything I can to give him the best chance to heal and come home, and I’m asking for any support you might be able to offer — whether that’s a donation or simply sharing his story.

Monty is a fighter. He’s playful, full of mischief, and loves nothing more than curling up on top of us or following us around like a little shadow. He means the absolute world to us. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of his recovery.
