Hello All,
I am Moala Pahulu's younger sister Reina and it saddens me to even be writing this. I hope if nothing else you read this lengthy plea and offer up a prayer or even kind words for my brother. I don't know where to begin exactly because things have progressed so quickly in such a short amount of time and nothing could've prepared our family for a time like this. On May 15th, 2025 we as siblings received devastating news: Moala has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
He'd initially gone to the ER due to an infection which filled his right lung with fluids making it impossible for him to breathe and during that draining process the doctors found a sarcoma in his chest area. He was later transferred to Stanford Medical for their oncology program but as of today his doctors are saying his prognosis isn't looking good. Doctors said that if his body isn't strong enough at any point to withstand the next round (July 3rd) of chemo therapy then it would be best to return home on hospice care to spend whatever time he has left with family and friends.
We're doing our best to stay hopeful as a family while also trying to prepare for the worst. Moala is number 6 of 8 siblings. He is a son, a husband, an uncle, and the best big brother anyone could ask for. If you've had the opportunity to meet Moala he has always been someone you could rely on to make you feel safe and laugh with. Always one to help anyone in need or give anything that he has to offer without hesitation. He loves his family especially his beautiful wife Miniseila and all his nieces & nephews.
Any donations made will go towards helping with medical needs and funeral arrangements.
Much love & gratitude,
Pahulu Family
