Coraki flood. Help Jacob,Jennifer little family.

Hi, 

we are Jacob and Jennifer Lesleighter.     

We moved to Coraki a little under 12 months ago. We are both emergency service first responders and we have two children 9 and 6, who are the most beautiful little people, and the centre of our world. 

We are trying our best to not worry them, but they do pick up on our stresses :( We also have a dog named Boondie and a fluffy cat named Tohru.



Due to the natural disaster that affected all of Northern NSW, our own home was flooded while we were on duty in our township, and while we have been giving our all assisting others, our own family lost just about everything we owned.


We had a foot of floodwater go through our rental property and 1.5 metres through our shed, which had a lot of what we could have moved into and used, destroyed by flood water.    

Due to the damage to the property and the footings of the house sinking in, the house is on unstable ground and we can’t move back into our rental, we slept on our neighbours floor.

We don’t have a lot and we don’t need a lot, and as first responders we’re most often the people helping, and not asking for it ourselves. This catastrophic event has changed our lives, and like many others, we’ll need a bit of a hand bouncing back.

We are hoping to buy a caravan big enough for our family to move into due to the lack of housing available and most importantly, for somewhere our kids can call home and feel safe. If we can get to our goal it will help our family rebuild.
