Help Ivan Get His Surgery

This is Ivan, or Ivan the Terrible, Ivan Doggo, Rocky or “the dog with a smile on his face.”

Ivan is a 5-year-old rescue and has the spirit of a toddler with a body that just cannot keep up with his soul. I adopted him in 2017, and he has struggled with his health from the beginning. He came to me malnourished and sickly but with a strong will to live. A few years later, he developed an autoimmune disease which has been costly with medications and regular vet visits. A few months ago, he ruptured his meniscus and has been housebound since then.

He is an energetic and lively dog who loves nothing more than joining me on hikes or adventures at the barn with his horse, cat, and other dog friends, so it is hard to watch him be stuck at home.

He needs a surgery that will allow him to heal up and play again. It will allow him to be the happy and outgoing dog that he should be.

My soul is filled with joy when I see him carrying his favorite rock while on a hike or when he greets strangers like a best friend he hasn’t seen in years.

As a recent college graduate and a young adult starting out on my own, I am juggling many finances, which weigh heavily on my income.

He deserves the world, and it pains me not to be able to afford this surgery. I want only the best for him, especially considering all the hardships he has had in the past.

He is my baby and my best friend.

Many of us as animal lovers understand this to the core.

I am asking for help from anyone who knows him and anyone who is touched by his uniqueness and love.

He has touched the hearts of many, and I wish to allow him to continue to fill more hearts for the rest of his life.
