Save Sycorax – Your Help Can Give Him a Fighting Chance!
My name is Mina, and I need your help to save my beloved 1.5-year-old cat, Sycorax.
Anyone who knows me knows I’ve dedicated my life to cats—I’ve fostered over 100 cats and kittens through organizations like the Humane Society, Green Paw, and Caped Crusaders Cat Rescue. When I got the call about Sycorax (formerly Butterball), a special-needs kitten with chronic, treatment-resistant diarrhea, I didn’t hesitate. I made a vow to only adopt cats who needed extra care, and Sycorax stole my heart.
Through trial and error—deworming, specialized diets, fecal tests, and endless research—we finally found a regimen that worked: pumpkin, baked chicken, and Saccharomyces boulardii supplements kept his IBD under control. But just as we celebrated that victory, Sycorax developed a persistent ear infection that resisted multiple rounds of antibiotics and medicated rinses. Then, disaster: a growth appeared. The chronic ear infections made sense.
Last week, his vet at the Animal Medical Center of Mid America confirmed he needs immediate surgery to remove the mass and test it for malignancy. We set the appointment ASAP on June 26th. While the prognosis is hopeful, the location complicates full removal—and if it’s cancerous, Sycorax may need ongoing care or even chemotherapy at Veterinary Specialty Services (VSS).
I’m humbly asking for your support to cover surgery costs (removal & biopsy) and possible aftercare (meds, follow-ups, or chemo if needed.)
If we exceed our goal, all extra funds will go directly to Caped Crusaders Cat Rescue—an incredible volunteer-run organization that saves countless lives, just like Sycorax’s.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Sycorax is more than a cat—he’s family, a fighter, and a testament to the love every rescue deserves. Your kindness could save his life.
