Guerreras Latinas has been organizing the Latino community in East Portland and surrounding areas for over nine years. Founded and led by community leader, activist, and advocate Yoana Molina Marcial, they have grown to a group of over 1000 women who learn from and support each other. As they grow their impact, they are making transformational changes to the conditions in the community that make it possible for everyone to thrive.
In the last three years in partnership with the City of Portland, Multnomah County, and at least 60 agencies and organizations, Guerreras Latinas successfully serve over 10,000 families by providing rental assistance, personal protective equipment, personal care products, household goods, culturally specific pantries, COVID-19 relief gift cards, Chromebooks and iPads, internet cards, coats for the cold, diapers, emotional support through virtual groups, peer support for DV survivors, classes, workshops, and countless presentations of interest to the community we serve.
The need is not over, the status and positionality of the Latino community make these needs continue and multiply by the minute, at Guerreras Latinas, we have the love, passion, and desire to continue serving those who need it most, but we can not do this without your monetary support. With your donation, we can pay a grant writer to grow in capacity and impact, expand our services to more families, provide warm food during our empowerment groups, and pay for child watch, a huge barrier the Latino community faces to access services and resources that can help them to succeed in life.
Every dollar counts, together we are stronger!
