Last week Emma, at just 23 years old, was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, one of the most aggressive and difficult-to-treat forms of breast cancer.
While she should be finishing her first year of law school, she will instead be facing a long road of chemo and surgeries as she prepares to beat this disease. Overnight, Emma's life has changed and she became one of the youngest people in the Beth Israel/Dana Farber network being treated for breast cancer currently.
As she looks at the road ahead — endless doctor appointments, scans, and a long chemotherapy plan that will take months to complete, the treatment is not only physically and emotionally draining, but also incredibly expensive. She will need support with medical bills, living expenses, and travel for her family and caretakers. In addition, as she prepares to begin chemo, she’s also preparing to lose her hair — something that, while temporary, is deeply emotional for a 23-year-old woman. She hopes to purchase a high-quality wig and while nothing can replicate her incredible natural head of curls, we want to help her feel a little more like herself during this difficult journey.
Your support will help cover:
- Ongoing medical bills and medications not covered by insurance, including the many alternative therapies that are a support while going through chemo
- A high-quality wig and head coverings for confidence and comfort
- Rent, groceries, and essential living expenses while she focuses on healing instead of working
- Travel expenses for her family who live in New Jersey (she will be receiving treatment in Boston)
Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a meaningful difference. If you can’t give, please consider sharing this campaign to help spread the word.
Let's help Emma beat this!!!
