Help Us Challenge the Controversial Mosque Approval in Balgaddy – Protect Our Community

South Dublin County Council has approved plans for a large mosque in Balgaddy, despite overwhelming local opposition. We are launching this fundraiser to hire professional planning consultants and legal experts to formally challenge this decision through the planning appeals process.

Why We Oppose This Development:

• The vast majority of residents in Balgaddy have strongly objected due to the expected increase in noise, heavy traffic congestion, and the oversized scale of the proposed construction, which is unsuitable for our residential area.

• Balgaddy is already a disadvantaged community facing significant challenges, including limited access to essential services, poor infrastructure, and pressing local needs. A mosque is not what our area requires right now – resources should instead address housing, education, community facilities, and support for existing residents.

This approval ignores community concerns and risks further straining our neighbourhood. We believe a proper review is needed to ensure developments respect local character and priorities.
