Help Brittany Avoid Eviction After Job Loss

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Brittany, and I'm reaching out because I'm facing eviction after losing my job in November. I never thought I'd be in this position, but here I am, asking for help from my community when all other resources have been exhausted.

Being single with no children, military experience, or disability means I don't qualify for many government resources that could help me through this crisis. After exceeding the standard 24 weeks of unemployment insurance, I'm now behind on rent and facing eviction.

Over the past three months, I've made hundreds of calls seeking assistance. I've contacted over 30 organizations - churches, government agencies, charitable organizations - and the response has been overwhelmingly the same: "We have nothing for you: no information, no funding, nothing."

Here's just a sample of what I've encountered:
• Churches: Funds not available, only help members, or only serve specific counties
• Government organizations: Programs closed, no funding available, or no response at all
• Charitable organizations: Only serve women with children, funds depleted, or representatives who were outright rude

I've called elected officials' offices - some sent lists of organizations I'd already contacted, others never responded. I've spent countless hours navigating websites that promise help but lead nowhere.

I'm asking for support to catch up on my rent and avoid eviction. Everything donated here will be going directly to my landlord. I feel that the more I can close this gap, the more lenient they'll be. Any amount helps, whether it's $5 or $50 - it all adds up and means the world to someone fighting to keep their home.

This fundraiser isn't just about helping me avoid eviction. It's about proving that community still matters, that we can be the safety net for each other when the official systems fail us.

The good news is that I've signed a job offer and will be starting work soon. However, I fear I may be evicted before I can start working and receive my first paycheck. This is the cruel reality of how quickly things can spiral - even when you have employment lined up, the gap between signing and starting can be the difference between keeping your home and losing it.

I'm not looking for a handout - I'm looking for a hand up during the final stretch of one of the most challenging periods of my life. Once I'm back on my feet, I'm committed to helping others in similar situations and advocating for the systemic changes we desperately need.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a donation. Your support means more than you know.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings me closer to stability and keeps me in my home. Thank you for being part of my village.
