Hi everyone, my name is Rachel, and I’m writing this for my best friend, Boeing.
Boeing is a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd who has been by my side since he was just 8 weeks old and I love him more than anything. If you know Boeing, you know that "tennis balls are life." He has always been the most active, joyful dog, but lately, that spark has faded because he is in almost constant pain.
We recently discovered that Boeing has severe hip dysplasia. This genetic condition means his hip joints don’t align properly, causing the bone to grind instead of glide. Every step he takes is now a struggle, leading to arthritis and the risk of dislocation.
To give Boeing his quality of life back, he needs a double hip surgery. They will be done one at a time over the course of the next year. The good news is that the outcome is excellent for this type of procedure. 95% of the procedures are completely successful, and the difference is undetectable. It would be absolutely life-changing for him, giving him a long and pain-free normal existence. He is only five years old and has so much life left to live—I want him to be able to chase his favorite tennis balls again without pain.
Any contribution, no matter how small, goes directly toward his surgical costs and recovery. Thank you for loving Boeing as much as I do.
