Hello, My name is Vanessa, a vet student in Australia, and I am fundraising for my friend Ahmed in Gaza.

Ahmed is a veterinary student and an aspiring small animal surgeon hoping to raising enough funds for his tuition to continue his studies online. One semester is about $1,800 USD, but the school has allowed him to pay in installments - $600 at registration (in about a month), $600 and midterm exams, another $600 at final exams. His family also has no current income, both of his parents no longer work, they've lost their apartment and currently live in a tent in Khan Younis and winter is coming.

This fundraiser will also help cover basic necessities, such as food, clothes, and rent for an apartment if they are able to find one.

Here is Ahmed's story, in his own words:

My name is Ahmad, a veterinary student from Gaza. I chose this path because I care deeply about animals and their suffering, especially in a place like mine. But today, I'm not only struggling to continue my studies – I'm struggling to survive, and my family and I live in hunger while surrounded by war and hardship.

Despite everything, I still try to care for animals with the little I have. My dream is to finish my education and open a clinic to help animals .
