He Found Us—Now We Need Your Help to Keep Him Safe
Donazione protetta
Hi, my name is Bobby.
On the morning of April 17th, my family and I noticed a dog wandering through our neighborhood. He was wearing a harness, so we assumed he must belong to someone nearby. But as the hours passed and he continued roaming alone, frightened and confused, our concern grew. That afternoon, we tried to approach him to check for a collar or contact info, but he was too scared and bolted away.
The next morning, we found him again—still alone. This time, we gently followed him into a neighbor’s backyard. With patience, some food, and a lot of time (over two hours), we were finally able to earn his trust and bring him into our home.
We immediately posted on Nextdoor and Facebook, called local vets and shelters, but no one had reported him missing. Despite being clearly well-trained and groomed, he had no microchip and no one ever came looking. Two weeks later, he's still with us, and he’s quickly become a part of our family.
He’s been amazing with our four kids and is slowly bonding with our family dog, Happy. In many ways, this sweet pup has been an unexpected blessing—a little four-legged "welcome to the neighborhood" gift, as we just moved here six weeks ago.
We’ve decided to give him a forever home. But welcoming him into our lives comes with unexpected costs. We need to take him to the vet for a full check-up and vaccinations, buy him a crate and other essentials so he has a space of his own, and pay our landlord an additional pet fee to keep him in our home.
Local shelters are overcrowded, and we’re deeply afraid that if we surrender him to the county, euthanasia might be the only outcome. We can’t let that happen.
So we’re reaching out to the community for help. If you’re able to donate—even a small amount—it would mean the world to us and help make this transition smooth and safe for our new furry family member. If you can’t give, we truly appreciate you taking the time to read our story, and we’d be grateful if you could share it with others.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
With love and gratitude,
Bobby & Family
