Healing Gracelyn: Funding therapies not covered by ins.

Gracelyn miraculously survived traumatic brth which resulted in a severe brain injury. Conventional medicine tells us that there is no hope for healing but we know there are so many amazingly successful options not covered by insurance. Help us heal our brave girl!!

Gracelyn is 3 years old & has had more loss in her life than most before she ever took her first breath. She is also the most determined, sweet, hard working girl you'll ever meet. Her offical diagnoses are: HIE (hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy) due to a uterine rupture during her birth, Cerebral Palsy, Cortical Vision Impairment, a Gtube, and no swallow.

After Gracelyn's traumatic birth where se went without oxygen for a prolonged time, she was not expected to live past day 3. Life support was removed as they waited for her to pass peacefully.

BUT GOD...Gracelyn started breathing on her own. She is a fighter!

I met baby Gracelyn when she was 6 weeks old. After staying alone in the NICU since her birth, our adoption/foster agency called to see if we might consider a baby with severe medical needs. We immediately said YES, not knowing exactly what her needs were, but knowing no baby should not be alone. I saw this beautiful brave baby and knew, and was so honored, she would be ours forever. We brought her home as our foster baby at 8 weeks old.

We were told she may not live very long, she may not ever be aware of her surroundings...and so many other presumptions she has crushed. Gracelyn is completely aware and engages in her world. She wants to move and communicate, and works so very hard to make her body work for her. She is the hardest working girl, active in her therapy, and motivated to keep learning and growing. This girl never quits!

Medical family life is not for the faint of heart. It isn't something we ever imagined and navigating all of the options, recommendations, "experts" has been overwhelming and daunting. We have utilized all the therapies covered by insurance, and I knew that there had to be more out there for our girl. I could see she wanted more.

We are seeking alternative treatments and newly developed methods, which have been proved successful for many children just like Gracelyn. Unfortunately, they aren't covered by insurance and the out of pocket cost is great.

But as a mother, as parents, we want to do whatever we can to give her her best life to help her reach her full potential, to help her reach her goals and be successful in the ways she wants to be.

Gracelyn's adoption was finally finalized in 2023 & we are so honored to be her forever family!

Funds raised will be used for therapy and equipment not covered by insurance, but absolutely vital, with incredible success rates for those with Gracelyn's type of brain injury.

Each therapy will help to heal her brain & teach her body how to move. Each piece of equipment will help to continue healing at home in her motor skills as well as strengthening her swallow!
