Pitch in to give Tuesday a fighting chance
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Ben Mahoney, and I am Tuesday's dad. We adopted Tuesday in December 2019 from the SPCA when she was just 8 weeks old. Smart, sweet and full of playful energy, Tuesday quickly stole our hearts and became a member of our family of two humans, three cats and (now) two dogs.

Tuesday's Diagnosis:
Two week ago, Tuesday's abdomen got very swollen. We took her to her regular vet, who treated her for worms. However, after a few days, things weren't getting better. In fact, Tuesday was getting more swollen, was lethargic and having trouble breathing.
We rushed her to Med Vet where they ran a few blood and bile acid tests, and also drained nearly two pounds of fluid from her belly.

The prognosis wasn't good. Based on the tests, their belief is that Tuesday has a congenital liver problem with the main vein that goes to her liver, meaning she has probably developed one or more shunts that need to be repaired, assuming they . When the doctor told me that she believed Tuesday had only a 10% likelihood of surviving more than a few months, it knocked the wind out of me. The vet advised that more might could be done for Tuesday -- but that it would be very expensive.
Since then, we've been giving Tuesday nine or so medicines each day and hoping for the best. She remains sweet, energetic and very playful. After crying it out and talking to a lot of people, we believe there is more to learn and possibly treat. After consulting with a few vets and other animal lovers, everyone agreed: if Tuesday were an older dog, we would just continue on medication and hope for the best.
But Tuesday is just a baby. She has so much potential and life ahead of her. She can't fight for herself, so we are fighting for her.
Why we need your help:
The next step is to take Tuesday to the LSU Teaching Hospital in Baton Rouge to do tests and possibly surgery, which will quickly add up.
We have borrowed everything we can to get this process started and will do whatever it takes to get Tuesday the treatment she needs. But if you chip in and share this campaign, we can raise the money she needs to get the best care and the best fighting chance at surviving.
We will use 100% of funds raised for Tuesday's treatment at the hospital and ongoing care. We will happily donate any remaining funds to the SPCA shelter where we adopted her so that they can care for other rescues.
With love and gratitude,
-Ben & Walter (Humans)
-Dr. Hannibal Lecter PHD, Cuddles Van Damme, and Torbjorn (Tuesday's cat friends)
- Brownie and (of course) Tuesday (doggos)
