Financial Aid Fund for Lactation Support

Support The Breastfeeding Center of Ann Arbor in offering more low- or no-cost lactation consultations to families who need financial assistance. Appointments average $120, and a donation of any amount helps us support more babies and parents. Your contribution helps sponsor another family to be able to access lactation services, without financial stress.

We believe in making lactation support equally accessible to all, and that it should be a right, not a privilege. That's why we've been happy to offer our free weekly walk-in mom-and-baby time for over 15 years, and parents can come as often and long as they need. That's why we share helpful information via our website and podcast with no subscription fee or paywall barrier. That's why we've partnered with an insurance billing platform that allows the majority of our clients to receive no-cost visits with us.

But unfortunately, not all insurance plans are included in this, and for some parents, the upfront cost of appointments can be a struggle. And, as you likely know, most families need more than one appointment throughout their feeding journey. So that's why we offer low- and no-cost appointments, because we want every family to get the help they deserve without having to worry about finances, especially at an already stressful time of postpartum and early parenting. We'd love to be able to offer these more, but, to be very honest, there's a limit to how much we can work unpaid. So that's where you come in - any amount you can "pay forward" and contribute will be gratefully used to expand our financial assistance, and allow more parents to get the help and services they deserve.

Note - If we receive more donations to this fund than we need, we will donate excess to a local organization that supports birthing and postpartum families. We'll add updates to the campaign, so donors receive news about if and where we do this.
