Dear Northern Rivers community,
My name is Liam and I am a Paramedic, surfer and ex-lifeguard based on the Tweed Coast. I grew up in Cabarita/Bogangar, and after spending the last few years away for work and travel, I now live in Kingscliff permanently and work for both NSW and QLD Ambulance Services.
With the increasing number of incidents and sightings in our area, I am looking to fund community shark bite kits at our beaches to provide some safety, peace of mind and risk mitigation strategies for surfers, swimmers and beach goers in the area.
This service has been implemented very successfully through Community SBK in the Mid North Coast, South Coast and SA, with now over 100 publicly funded kits available.
These kits contain life-saving equipment that can be used by anyone, regardless of medical/first aid training, and have the potential to save lives in a situation where seconds count.
The idea would be to raise enough money to roll these kits out at both our busiest and most isolated beaches. At $120 per kit and roughly 30 proposed initial locations, I am looking to raise $3600, but the more we can raise the more kits we can implement.

Emergency Thermal Blanket (Space Blanket)
Whistle
Specimen/Amputated parts bag
Gloves
Shark Bite Management Cards (Instructions on how to use the equipment and treat a shark bite)
