Elliott the Ultimate DogFather Needs Surgery
Donation protected
On Monday, November 20, 2023, Elliott woke up but couldn’t get out of bed. A trip to the vet revealed he may have a herniated disc in his neck. He was given heavy medication and told to rest. On Thursday, November 23, Elliott fell over after trying to go pee and cried in pain. A trip to emergency and an MRI showed he needed surgery immediately to fix the disc in his neck.
Elliott is the father or grandfather of a lot of Beagles in Alberta. He was a part of the Telford’s breading program until the age of 9 when he was adopted by Alexiss and Gerald Barrer. He fathered one last litter which is how they got Oliver and I got my Harper. This is how I met Elliott and the Barrer’s and became instant friends (and their dog sitter) for life.
The surgery is going to cost $14,000.00. An $8000 deposit was required when he went in today.
Elliott is an amazing boy. He’s 13 years young and very healthy!! He has a lot of life in him and deserves to live it pain free. He enjoys his walks, hikes and paddle boarding and would love to continue doing that for many years to come, which is why Alexiss and Gerald are moving forward with the surgery.
I’m here asking if you could please help cover the costs. Those of us that have one of Elliott’s offspring know how lucky we are to have Beagles with his amazing temperament (and silly personality). And those of us who know the Barrer’s know that they are the first people to take in your dog and give them a safe place to stay while you are on vacation. They are also the first people to step up and help out when tragedy hits.
Every nickel helps ❤️.
