Dr. Nageeb Basir - Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, teacher to countless students, and healer to patients all over the world joined the angels on May 4th, 2022.

Throughout his life, he chose the straight and often difficult path of selflessly serving others through medicine. He dedicated his entire life to his family and profession. He was a devoted husband, humble physician, and kind father. He was surrounded by his family and friends in his final days in New York City at the end of a long and valiant battle with cancer. His memory will forever live on in our hearts and minds.

In his honor, the Basir family is collecting donations for the Kidney Centre in Karachi, Pakistan- a non-profit hospital where he ran the cardiology department. The Kidney Centre offers free healthcare services to medically underserved communities in a city where health disparities are wide.

He is survived by the love of his life “Biba" Yasmeen, mother-in-law Atiya, children Fahd & Sassi, Asad & Aalya, Mashal & Humza, grandchildren Arien, Arzu, Azzam, and Amirah, brother Nasser & Schantz, and many loving family members.
