Donazione protetta
I’ve known Donnie for about 40 years. He grew up in Mora, Minnesota, moved to Minneapolis, and found his way to Palm Springs, California, and now Idyllwild, where he lives surrounded by nature. He’s a Renaissance man, having worked as a hair stylist, flight attendant, and a substance abuse counselor. He excelled in construction and is an amazing cook and baker. Most of all, he’s a caring person who often goes out of his way to help others.
For the last few years, Donnie has been having difficulty talking, walking, and keeping his balance. Doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong with him. Finally, he was diagnosed with PSP, progressive supranuclear palsy. PSP.org describes PSP as being “a neurodegenerative disorder that has no known cause or cure. It affects brain cells that control balance, walking, coordination, eye movement, speech, swallowing, and thinking. Five to six people in 100,000 have PSP. Symptoms begin, on average, when an individual is in the early 60’s, but may start as early as in the 40’s. PSP is slightly more common in men than women, but it has no known geographical, occupational, or racial preference.” Although symptoms can be treated, there is no known cure.
We’re starting this gofundme campaign to raise money for Donnie’s hospital bills and medical care. We’re grateful for every donation, whether big or small. Thank you.
