Update!!
UPDATE: Kylees second surgery went well. They didn’t see any infection THANK GOODNESS! She came out in a lot of pain though and it took some time to get her comfortable. But she is sleeping and doing well. I will do a more in detail explanation about what happened and what put us here tomorrow.
Chaffee County!!
Your 2025 rodeo Queen and active member of the community needs our help!! On October 14th, Kylee Johnson had a bad dirt bike accident. The accident resulted in a 3-inch deep hole in her leg. She was sent home from the ER to recover. She remained in severe pain for days, with multiple trips back to the ER, and no pain medication touched the pain. Eight days later, she developed strange blisters down her leg, and one burst, revealing a large amount of infection. She was taken to the ER again, where it was determined that she would be taken by helicopter to Children’s Hospital to have an emergency surgery performed. After a successful two-hour surgery, they found a piece of her pants deep in the wound. She is doing well now but will have to undergo a couple more procedures to guarantee all the infection is gone. She doesn’t have insurance, so with the helicopter and hospital bills, along with both parents being out of work for an unforeseeable future, I am asking the community to please help this incredible family take a load off their shoulders so they can all focus on healing Kylee!
Note from mom (Chelsea Johnson)
We are reaching out to our community and asking for help. With us not qualifying for insurance and this severe life threatening emergency kylee went through, the helicopter ride, and many surgeries yet the bills are astronomical. Anything will help us and our family. Kylee not only is a wonderful kid but a part of your community as the Chaffee county Royalty Queen and also she is one of your JV and Varsity girls Basketball players. If you can not donate we completely understand but continued prayers would be so very appreciated. ♥️
