Denali’s Journey Home and to Healing
Donation protected
On Friday, June 13th at 5:30 PM, our sweet girl Denali escaped from Ruff Canine Club during a chaotic moment when a staff member intervened in the second dog fight of the night. In the confusion, both gates were left open, and Denali—terrified—bolted out into the world.
There were no confirmed sightings after the first ten minutes. For six agonizing days, she was missing. We searched tirelessly day and night, contacted every shelter, vet, and emergency agency—including CSX—and followed every possible lead.
Denali is an Australian Cattle dog/Rough Collie and not even 2 years old. She is incredibly shy and sensitive. We adopted her in March after she was returned to the breeder from an abusive/neglectful home. This is the same place where we got her sister, Juniper. She had only just started to come out of her shell when this trauma shook her world again.
Thanks to the help of our community and a professional tracker (which cost $1,100 out of pocket), we were finally able to locate her. But she didn’t come home unscathed—Denali has an injured leg and paw, and she is clearly in pain. She was seen this morning at her vet, which was an additional $350.
We are asking for help covering:
Emergency veterinary care
The cost of the tracker that helped us find her
Any additional medical or recovery expenses
Denali is more than just a pet—she’s family. We’re doing everything we can to help her heal and feel safe again. If you’re able to donate, your support means the world to us. If not, please share her story—every bit helps us move forward.
Thank you for helping us bring our baby girl home and give her the care she needs to heal.
