Flying Pig was launched on July 20 (at Snelling and Minnehaha in St Paul) to commemorate Heather Valdez: beloved sister, children's librarian, and thrifter extraordinaire. She never found a thrift store that didn't reveal a treasure! Her spirit has guided the founding of this nonprofit-sharing retail, where donated treasures find new homes, and worthy nonprofits benefit as a result.  We donate to Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration, and the Saint Paul Almanac.

With the current pandemic, we have decided to temporarily close, and will reopen when it is safe to do so. In the meantime, we are asking for your help to meet our monthly expenses of rent, utilities, one staff member, and internet services. We will be pursuing grants when they become available, but we certainly could use your support for our immediate needs.
