Our amazing friend Courtney Hilburn was diagnosed this past week with ductal carcinoma breast cancer. Courtney is a wonderful mother of four beautiful children, Jack (almost 6), Teddy (4), Scott (2), and Isabel (7 months). She is a loyal, loving, and incredible friend. The first step in her treatment will be a double mastectomy in the next few weeks. Then, depending on the results of what is removed, she may need radiation, chemo, and/or a hysterectomy. Followed by a lifelong need of medication and possible hormone therapy. This is an unbelievebly scary time with so many unknowns for Courtney and for her family. We hope that 100% of Court’s (and her family’s) energy can be focused on getting her body, mind, and spirit through this treatment without the added stress and distraction of a financial burden.
