We are the Dr. John Long Middle School staff. We are a family that bands together in good times and in bad. Today we are grief stricken and holding each other up. Today we've learned of the loss of our friend, our colleague, our family member. As we wander our halls today they echo. We hear our Football Teams, our Soccer Teams, our Track Teams and our students all looking for words, for answers, for understanding. There are few dry eyes today. We have lost our beloved coach, friend, colleague, mentor, teacher. How can we understand, how can we support each other. It's at this time that we realize as we grieve the loss he was a family man first and foremost. His precious family wife Amy, daughter Regan and son Gavin have lost the person in their lives that meant the world to them. He was their world. And a large part of that world has left them. Coach Z taught history, but he did so much more. He tutored struggling students, he headed up summer educational tours, and he attended every extra curricular activity his children had. He was a dad and husband first and foremost. He spent weekends barbequing with his parents and family. He was a family man in every sense of the word. He did everything possible to keep his family strong and worked to make ends meet. His loss is unsurmountable to his family and they need us now. They need the support of his work family and friends. As educators our pay is often not monetary but seeing those children we've spent time with succeed. As coaches seeing those athaletes move forward in their careers. At this time we are asking for donations to help with this unexpected loss. For funeral expenses, for his families future needs. Coach Z would put his family first and we are asking you to help us help them. Any thing you can donate is appreciated and helps. We thank you, his family will thanks you and if Z himself could he would thank you.
